On Saturday, August 19, 2017, at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department, along with personnel from Fitchburg Fire Rescue, Fitchrona EMS, UW Med Flight and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Blizzard Road for an ATV crash.
The initial investigation indicated an 18 year-old male was driving an ATV on private property and struck a tree. The driver was not wearing a helmet and sustained life-threatening injuries. There is no preliminary evidence of drug or alcohol use by the driver. He was transported to a local hospital by UW Med Flight.
The crash remains under investigation with the assistance of Conservation Wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
