On Thursday, June 22, 2017, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the Capitol Petro Mart at 2770 South Syene Road for an armed robbery. The suspect entered the store and indicated he was armed with a handgun. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. A Madison Police Department K9 Unit assisted in the investigation.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, approximately 5’8”, with a slender build.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. The investigation is open and there is no further information to release at this time.
