On 05/25/2017 at approximately 12:27 PM, members of the Fitchburg Police Department responded to a one vehicle crash on southbound USH 14, south of Irish Lane. The vehicle was traveling northbound on USH 14. The vehicle drifted off the roadway and crossed over the center median, both southbound lanes of traffic and entered a wooded area. The vehicle struck several trees and reentered the southbound lanes of traffic. The driver was the sole occupant and was transported by Med Flight. Injuries to the driver appear to be non-life threatening. Southbound lanes of USH 14 were shut down for approximately 45 minutes to allow Med Flight to land on USH 14. Fitchburg Fire Department and Fitchrona EMS assisted at the scene.
Speed or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, however, we do not anticipate to release any additional updates.
