On July 30, 2016, at 8:55 pm, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to an attempted strong armed robbery at the Great Clips hair salon at 6309 Mckee Road.
The suspect entered the business and attempted to grab several bank type money bags from an employee. Another employee knocked the suspect to the ground and wrestled the bags away from him. The suspect then left the store. There were no injuries reported.
The suspect is described as a thin black male, approximately 5’10”, wearing black shorts, a black shirt, and a black hat. The suspect was last seen heading east on Mckee road.
At this time, we do not have any information to believe there is an immediate threat to the community.
