CRASH
On Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 7:22am, the Fitchburg police department responded to the 5200 block of County Highway M for a vehicle versus farm tractor crash.
INVESTIGATION
The investigation indicated a farm tractor was pulling a trailer on westbound on County Highway M followed by a vehicle, as a westbound Honda Ridgeline was approaching from behind. The Honda attempted to pass both the farm tractor and following vehicle by entering the oncoming lane. The farm tractor attempted to turn left into a private gravel driveway. The front passenger side of the Honda struck driver side of the farm tractor.
INJURIES
The driver and passenger in the Honda were wearing seat belts and the driver of the farm tractor was ejected. The driver of the Honda, a 29 year old male, and passenger, a 29 year old female, were transported to UW-Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the farm tractor, a 38 year old male, was driven to a local hospital with a possible right wrist injury.
CITATION ISSUED
The driver of the Honda was issued a traffic citation for operating left of center.
ROAD CLOSURE
County Highway M was closed in both directions for approximately two hours between County Highway MM to Caine Road until the investigation was completed.
