Two seventeen-year-olds are in custody following this morning’s incident involving a double-stabbing and intentional car crash.
While the investigation is still developing, officers have determined the incident began with a disturbance on Red Arrow Trail. Officers believe Joiner Irigio Gutierrez, 17, stabbed two teenagers during the disturbance.
A short time after the incident on Red Arrow Trail, officers believe Jesus Gomez Zarco, 17, who was involved in the initial disturbance, intentionally crashed his car into another occupied car on Belmar Circle.
Minor injuries were reported at both scenes, and the two individuals who were stabbed were released from a local hospital after treatment.
Irigio Gutierrez was taken into custody and booked into the Dane County Jail on two counts of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.
Gomez Zarco was taken into custody and booked into the Dane County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Criminal Damage to Property, and Hit & Run.

On February 3, 2024 around 1:20 a.m. the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the Belmar Neighborhood for the report of a large group gathering in the street. Upon arrival, officers determined one vehicle had intentionally crashed into another vehicle after two individuals were stabbed. Non-life-threatening injuries were reported as a result of both dangerous acts. It is believed the involved parties are known to each other and there is no known threat to the public.
