Details:
Yesterday three suspects believed to be involved in the shooting on Deer Valley Rd. were identified. Officers from the Fitchburg Police Department located two of the suspects at a Southdale apartment, where they were taken into custody without incident. The third suspect turned himself into the department for questioning shortly after. Two of the suspects were questioned and released. The suspected shooter, identified as Samuel N. Taylor, 17, was arrested and transported to the Dane County Jail.
During the investigation, a second apartment was found to have been struck by gun fire. Any residents who have not yet reported damage to their property are asked to contact the Fitchburg Police Department as soon as possible.

On October 13, 2023, Fitchburg Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Deer Valley Road for a report of shots fired. As officers arrived, they were informed one person had been hit by the gunfire. The victim was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury. Shell casings and projectiles were located on scene.
Preliminary information believes this to be an isolated incident.
The incident is under active investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
