IRONMAN TRAFFIC ALERT
This weekend, thousands of athletes will be riding their bikes through Fitchburg as part of the Ironman 70.3 (Saturday) and the Ironman (Sunday). The routes through Fitchburg and the intersections where traffic will be controlled are described below. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes as they may encounter long delays at intersections while bicyclists are in the area. We appreciate your patience and extra caution while driving in the area. The courses also travel through surrounding communities, including Oregon on Saturday and Verona on Sunday.
SATURDAY
The course will be active in Fitchburg from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fitchburg Police personnel will be controlling traffic at the following intersections:
• CTH M/Borchert Road
•CTH M/Wendt Road
•Whalen Road/Fitchburg Road
•Fish Hatchery Road/Whalen Road
•Whalen Road/Caine Road
•Caine Road/Irish Lane
•Irish Lane/South Syene Road
•Irish Lane/CTH MM
•CTH MM/Lacy Road
•CTH MM/McCoy Road

SUNDAY
The course will be active in Fitchburg from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Fitchburg Police personnel will be controlling traffic at the following intersections:

•CTH MM/Lacy Rd
•CTH MM/Haight Farm Rd*

•Fish Hatchery Rd/Whalen Rd
^ W/B traffic onto McCoy Road from CTH MM will be restricted while bicyclists are on the course until approximately 11:00 a.m.
*Officers present until 11:00 a.m.
