A 31 year-old male was shot multiple times while sitting in his car in an apartment complex parking lot in the 5100 block of Anton Drive Thursday night.
Around 8:00 p.m., Fitchburg officers responded to the parking lot on Anton Drive after a man called 911 to report he had been shot. Prior to officers arriving on Anton Drive, the injured male drove to the Speedway Gas Station on Verona Road. Emergency medical personnel met the male at Speedway and transported him to a local hospital. He sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, gunshot wounds.
Officers recovered multiple shell casings at the scene of the shooting on Anton Drive. No damaged property was located and no other injuries were reported as a result of the shots fired.
The investigation is open and active.
