On 08/01/2018, at approximately 10:12 PM, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to an apartment in the 1900 Block of Pike Dr. for a gunshot victim. Officers located a male subject who was shot. During the investigation, officers discovered that numerous suspects entered the apartment and attacked the male victim. During the struggle, numerous shots were fired. The male victim was wounded by the gunfire. The suspects then fled the scene. The male victim was transported to a local hospital and was being treated for serious injuries. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening. A suspect in this attack may have been injured and may have a significant wound. This does not appear to be a random act. Town of Madison Police Department, Madison Police Department, and a Madison Police Department K9 assisted with the investigation.
