On Friday May 18th starting after 7:00 pm, there were a plethora of juvenile disturbances which occurred on the midway grounds during Fitchburg Days. Due to the large scale of these incidents, all available Fitchburg and Town of Madison Police officers responded.
A fifteen year old and sixteen year old male were taken to the juvenile reception center. Also, a fifteen and sixteen year old male were issued citations. The investigation is continuing into these disturbances and further charges may be forthcoming. In addition there were three reported battery complains which are currently being investigated. Based on these events the midway was closed early.
Thus, due to safety concerns for the general public the midway will be closing at 7:00 pm on Saturday May 19th.
