On 1/3/18, at approximately 1:55 a.m., a Fitchburg police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Carling Dr. and the Verona Frontage Rd. The vehicle fled and the officer did not pursue.
A few minutes later, the officer located the suspect on foot in the 4500 block of Verona Rd. When the officer attempted to contact the suspect, he fled on foot, however, he was apprehended by police.
The vehicle was also recovered in the 4500 block of Verona Rd.; police discovered the car had been reported stolen to the Madison Police Department.
The suspect is a 13 year old. He was taken to the Juvenile Reception Center on tentative charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, fleeing and eluding an officer, and resisting an officer.
