On June 14, at approximately 7:30pm, officers of the Fitchburg Police Department were dispatched to the 5600 block of King James Ct. for multiple reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located shell casings, as well as broken glass from vehicle windows.
Shortly after the initial call, the police department received an additional call indicating there was a victim of a gunshot wound in the 5100 block of Anton Dr. Officers located that subject, who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim, a 19 year-old male, was transported to a local hospital for the injury.
This incident is under investigation, however it is believed to be a targeted incident. The Madison Police Department also assisted with the initial response and scene investigation.
