On Monday, March 27, 2017 at approximately 1:15AM, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department were dispatched to a weapons violation in the 5400 block of Caddis Bend in the City of Fitchburg.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male who had been shot in the hand. The victim was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The gun used in the incident has been recovered and the only suspect involved is in custody. The victim and the suspect knew each other and the shooting was not random.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available for release at this time.
