On April 14, 2016 at 2:41pm, officers of the Fitchburg Police Department were dispatched to S. Syene Rd. approximately one-quarter mile north of Byrne Rd. for a single vehicle, roll-over crash. Prior to the arrival of emergency services, the vehicle had started on fire with the driver inside. The driver died at the scene.
Dane County Sherriff’s Department Crash Reconstruction Team assisted in the investigation and preliminary investigation shows that speed was a factor in the crash. The identification of the driver is not being released at this time.
