On November 14, at 3:07 a.m., a Fitchburg patrol vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision while responding to an active, violent emergency call for service on the city’s west side.
The officer involved in the crash was evaluated at a local hospital and has since been discharged with minor injuries. No members of the public were involved in the collision. The circumstances surrounding both the crash and the emergency call for service remain under investigation.
The Fitchburg Police Department was assisted by the City of Madison Police and Fire Departments. The intersection of Carling Drive and the Verona Frontage Road was temporarily closed due to necessary utility repairs.
