The Fitchburg Police Department will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fitchburg Police Department, 5520 Lacy Road, Fitchburg.
This event provides a safe, free, and anonymous way to dispose of old, unwanted, or expired prescription medications—helping to prevent drug misuse and abuse.
Accepted items include tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid prescription forms. Syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs will not be accepted. Liquid medications, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original containers with caps tightly secured.
Since its start 16 years ago, Take Back Day has helped remove more than 19.8 million pounds of medication from circulation nationwide.
