[ARCHIVED] City of Fitchburg Memorial Day Observance

Memorial Day 2025

The public is invited to join the City of Fitchburg’s Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 26th at 12:30 p.m., held at the Bob Schley Memorial within the Fitchburg Veterans Memorial at Gorman Wayside Park (2377 S. Fish Hatchery Rd).

This year’s keynote speaker is retired U.S. Army Specialist 5 Edward Murray, a two-time combat medic and lifelong public servant. His address, “The Hands That Touched the Heroes,” will honor those who served and the unseen hands that supported them.

Military honors will be provided by the Brooklyn/Oregon American Legion Post 160 and Oregon/Brooklyn VFW Post 10272. After the keynote, members of the Lt. Marion C. Cranefield Post 1318 will present a Commemorative Wreath in honor of their 100th anniversary.
