Heartland Ecological Group, Inc. has been contracted by the City of Fitchburg to carry out prescribed burns in stormwater facilities. Please note, these burns are part of the City's efforts to maintain naturalized stormwater facilities, promoting native plant communities, enhancing biodiversity, and managing invasive species. The professional team from Heartland is insured, experienced, and has taken all necessary precautions to ensure safety, including notifying local emergency services and securing the required permits. Prescribed burns scheduled this week include Oak Meadow Pond, Addison Infiltration Basin, Uptown South, Phoenix Pond and Terravessa.
