Around 7:20 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, Fitchburg officers and emergency personnel responded to the southbound lanes of Fish Hatchery Road and Cahill Main for a single vehicle roll-over crash.
The driver of the SUV was ejected during the crash and was found to be unresponsive and without a pulse. Witnesses of the crash provided CCR until officers and other emergency personnel arrived to resume the lifesaving efforts. The driver, a 38 year-old male, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. There were no other passenger in the SUV and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Fish Hatchery Road was closed in both directions between McKee Road and Caddis Bend for approximately 4.5 hours. Identification of the deceased driver will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office.
