At approximately 3:46pm Thursday, December 28, 2023, Dane County Public Safety Communications (911) notified the Fitchburg Fire Department of a structure fire on the 2300 block of Chalet Gardens Road in the City of Fitchburg.
The first arriving fire personnel reported alarms sounding and confirmed visible smoke on the first floor. The fire occurred in a first-floor apartment and was contained to that apartment.
Fire was extinguished quickly by first arriving companies. Two units were affected due to smoke and fire damage. The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist with residents who were displaced. No injuries were reported.
Assistance was received from FitchRona EMS, Madison Fire Department, and Verona Fire Department.
The origin and cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Fitchburg Fire Investigators.
