On Friday, January 29th, 2021, at 8:49 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 of Fish Hatchery Rd for a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar Tree Store. When officers arrived on scene, they learned a suspect had entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the cashier. The suspect was unable to obtain any money and left the store on foot. A Dane County K9 Deputy came to the scene and performed a track for the suspect that was unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 40’s, 5’8” to 5’10”, approximately 175lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, a white bandana for a facemask, and black gloves.
