On 12/4/20, at approximately 1:38am, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the Belmar Hills neighborhood for numerous callers reporting hearing several gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, officers began a detailed search of several streets and intersections in the neighborhood as the callers reported hearing the gunfire from several different directions. Officers on a foot canvas in the 2300 block of Red Arrow Trail located seven casings in the roadway. A check of surrounding residences did not turn up any property damage, nor was there any indication that any persons, involved or innocent bystanders, were struck by the gunfire. Witnesses reported seeing a white vehicle fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
