On Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 4:48 p.m., Officers with the Fitchburg Police Department responded to a two vehicle head-on crash on McCoy Road and S. Syene Road with serious injuries. Initial indications are that the driver of one vehicle drifted left of the center line and struck the on-coming vehicle. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment and evaluation. One driver was released with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle that drifted over the center line is still in critical condition. The road was closed for about 4 hours.
The Fitchburg Fire Department, Dane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with the on-going investigation.
