On Monday, June 25th, 2019 at 4:41 a.m. officers from the Fitchburg Police Department were dispatched to the 2600 block of Smithfield Drive for reports of shots being fired. Witnesses on scene stated there were approximately 3 shots fired and the sound of a vehicle speeding away. Evidence located at the scene substantiates a shooting occurred. At this time, there have been no reports of injuries related to this incident.
